Non-porous ceramic core
Each Elkatherm electric radiator has a non-porous, ceramic core – a Chamotte block – that contains up to 20 heat plates. The block not only retains heat but also heats up quickly, using the MINIMUM AMOUNT OF ELECTRICITY. From switching on power to maximum heat takes an astonishing 5 minutes – significantly better than the 7 hours it takes a night storage heater to heat up.
Every single ceramic block is HAND TESTED to make sure it displaces, rather than absorbs, water – very important in a damp British climate. Beware imitations – the Elkatherm block is non-porous, unlike inferior alternatives on the marketplace.
Distributing heat evenly
Each ceramic block DISTRIBUTES HEAT EVENLY across the entire face of the heater, due to the unique Elkatherm design.
Large surface area
Elkatherm electric radiators have a large fluted surface area to radiate heat. Their surface area is larger than that of wet central heating radiators because the flutes are welded to both sides of the housing only 1cm apart. The result is that MORE HEAT IS RADIATED throughout the room.
The optimum balance between radiant and convective heat results in a UNIFORM TEMPERATURE throughout your room.
Each of our Elkatherm electric radiators has its own thermostat which controls the radiator by CONSTANTLY MONITORING the room temperature. As soon as the thermostat detects a drop in room temperature, it switches the heater back on and gives the precise amount of energy needed to raise the temperature to your pre-selected setting.
Low running costs
Independent testing in both the UK and Germany has demonstrated the LOW RUNNING COSTS of Elkatherm electric central heating. To heat your home on a cold day is likely to cost you no more, and sometimes less, than you would pay for mains gas.

THE TOTAL COST FOR THE 12 MONTH CASE STUDY FOR HEAT, POWER AND LIGHT TO THE PROPERTY IS £731.95 or an average of £2.00 per day.
This is a unique 12 month case study looking at the total electrical usage for power, heat and light. There is no gas in the property, no solid fuel or other heating. These are the results so far. The following radiators were fitted on January 9th 2012. The living areas are heated to 21 degrees c. and the bedrooms to 16 degrees c. 24 hours per day. Bed 1: S100 Bed 2: S100 Kitchen: S81 Living Room: SN150 and S100 =5300 watts.
January 10 – February 10th Units used: 1247 kWh
February 10th – March 10th Units used: 829 kWh
March 10th – April 10th Units used 568 kWh
The cost per unit at the property is 10.56p and the daily standing charge is 22p Therefore the cost to light, power and heat the property over the first quarter is: £279.20 + £19.80 = £299.00
April 10 – May 10th Units used: 508 kWh
May 10th – June 10th Units used: 170 kWh
June 11th to July 10th Units used 126 kWh
Therefore the cost to light, power and heat the property over the second quarter is: £84.90 + 20.26 = £105.16
July 10th – August 10th Units used: 75 kWh
August 11th to September 10th Units used: 62 kWh
September 10th to October 10th Units used: 149 kWh
Therefore the cost to light, power and heat the property over the third quarter is: £57.30
October 11th to November 10th Units used 535 kWh
November 11th – December 10th Units used 833 kWh
11th December – 10th January Units used: 947 kWh
Therefore the cost to light, power and heat the property over the fourth quarter is: £270.49
